NO ON 48

Media: :30 Television Spot
Client: No on 48 Committee
Challenge: Another “punt to the voters” stadium Public Funding scenario - “vote YES or the team leaves town!”

The Gilpin Group - on the NO side against a record-setting spending campaign backed by an individual of unlimited wealth and community prestige – was working only 1/50th of the opposition’s budget and less than a month left in the state-wide campaign.

Needing a David vs. Goliath theme to drive home the referendum’s unfair implications for the average taxpayer, we targeted a key swing vote - suburban females – with a “surgically” run cable television spot.

The result? The Gilpin Group redirected media attention of campaign to the real tax issues…forcing the other side to spend hundreds of thousands on the Soccer vote – they won by less than 1.5 points.*

*We still think we did a good job – so does our client.
